Bekk Smoothness Tester is an instrument used to test the smoothness of paper and paperboard surfaces. Under a certain vacuum and a specific pressure, a certain volume of air must pass through the gap between the sample surface and the glass surface. The time is expressed in seconds. The longer the time, the smoother the sample.
